WESTERLY, R.I. (WLNE) — According to the Westerly Fire Department, the state fire marshal is currently looking into a blaze that occurred at a restaurant on Watch Hill Road on January 9th.

At approximately 10 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to the Cooked Goose due to activated fire alarms and an ongoing fire situation.

The department stated that a "comprehensive revamp" was necessary, and the fire was extinguished in roughly an hour.

In a recent Facebook update, the restaurant announced that it would be closing temporarily for maintenance work, reassuring patrons that there were no injuries since the premises were empty at the time.
