A Plymouth takeaway and a restaurant have both been nominated for the semi-finals of the British Kebab Awards.

Yasin Bilici, the proprietor of City Charcoal Grill located in Mutley Plain, has received accolades for his culinary skills in the regional takeaway category.

Gurbet and Amy Yüksel, owners of Tantuni located on New George Street in Plymouth, have received a nomination in the best newcomer category.

Both have expressed their appreciation for the nominations in the awards, which will be determined at a ceremony in London on February 27th.

Gurbet and Amy Yüksel, owners of Tantuni located on New George Street in Plymouth, have received a nomination in the best newcomer category.

Mr. Bilic shared that his passion for cooking started at the age of 13 while working in a Turkish restaurant, and he relocated to Plymouth four years prior.

He remarked, "When you truly love what you do, it will lead to something truly wonderful," he stated.

"To be truly honest, you need to enjoy what you do."

He personally manages the food preparation and remarked, "I always serve customers as I would like to be served."

"If you take that approach, they'll appreciate it," he remarked.

Tantuni, originally a market stall in Plymouth offering wraps, shish kebabs, baklava, and Turkish tea and coffee, has now broadened its menu at its new location on New George Street.

Mr. Yuksel stated, "We prepare everything from scratch and make it all ourselves."

"With 25 years of experience in the industry, we bring together a blend of passion, dedication, and expertise."
